Education

Given that just about everyone in his family has been involved in teaching at some level, it isn't surprising that Robin, too, has been involved with education.

At its most basic level, that has meant visiting schools, taking tours round the newspaper office, talking to students interested in journalism and mentoring those on work experience, both in the UK and in Hungary. Committed to encouraging children to read and write, he helped launch a country-wide writing competition in Hungary, and has been asked to speak to everyone from school kids to pensioners groups about Hungarian current affairs.

But he has also taken on training roles, helping emergency response teams in the UK better plan how to liaise with the media, joined media liaison seminars for international NGOs, and advised companies on how best to communicate via, and with, the print media.

  Journalism at its traditional best

Robin Marshall is a journalist, writer, editor and communications consultant with more than 22 years reporting experience.

For the past decade, Robin has been based in Hungary, where he was managing editor of the popular weekly English-language newspaper The Budapest Sun. In that time, he has hosted events for international business chambers, done voice over work, briefed NGO staff and interviewed world leaders, media celebrities and pop stars.

Having left The Budapest Sun in 2008, Robin has since set up Devil's Advocate Communications (DA Comms) to provide your business with any help it may need in exploiting valuable media opportunities and in every day communications. Whether you need to commission a freelance article, require copy editing of material that is to go public, are looking for a seasoned professional to pull together eye catching press releases and get your message out in a way that makes sure it gets heard, or even need someone to brief your staff on how to deal with the printed media, contact DA Comms today.
